Ekslibris
Ekslibris is a tiny tool to keep track of your books and, eventually, share them with your friends or with everyone. And, on the other side, to find books in the shared libraries around you.
How to add a book
- Before starting a shelf, say whose books they are and whether they are private: it holds for all that follow.
- Point the camera at the barcode on the back. One sound per book added.
- No barcode, or not found? Type the ISBN printed on the copyright page; hyphens and the X are fine.
- No ISBN at all, as in books from before the seventies? Search the title under “Without ISBN”, choose the right match, then complete publisher, year and series by hand.
Sources
Book data comes from Open Library and Google Books, starting from the ISBN. Places come from OpenStreetMap, through Photon and Nominatim. A book's cover is the one these sources know.
